And here we are-one month away from this little man being a whole year old. Say what?! I'm just in shock that next month we will say we have " a one year old". I'm soaking up the baby-ness while I still can, although I think he's already pretty set on being a toddler. I couldn't love him more even if I tried!
This kid is HAPPY. Happy and hilarious. He makes us laugh all the time. And that laugh he's got is so contagious, I love it so much! As if his smile didn't already take up his whole face, now he scrunches up his nose when he's extra happy and it's about the cutest thing ever. He also scrunches his nose and sniffs in and out and tries to get us to do it with him. And then he laughs :).

Bear is on the move! He had been taking steps right around 10 months and then a couple weeks later he was off and going! The first time I really noticed it was one night when he was playing in the kitchen while I made dinner. He was playing at the fridge and when I turned around I saw him up and walking towards the pantry like it was nothing. I squealed and then grabbed my phone to take a video :). He gets steadier (and braver) each day. He started out doing the Frankenstein walk with his arms straight out in front of him for balance and it was so funny to watch. He learned how to get from sitting to standing right around 11 months. Now he just walks all over the house and is definitely walking more than crawling. If he falls (which he still does a lot...he is not cautious by any means), he will try to get back up right away and keep at it. It is so cute to see him walking around!
He dances whenever music comes on...or when the washer/dryer are done and play their song :). His "dancing"consists of shaking his head back forth like he's saying "no" and sometimes adding a hand clap. He likes to stand at the gate and hang on while he swings his head back and forth. He will give high-fives, especially after he turns a light on or off. If you ask "how big is Barrett?" he will shoot his arms up above his head. Speaking of his head, one say I randomly asked him where his head was and he pointed to it. It was so odd because I had never really taught him that. Little smarty pants. His 4th tooth broke through which makes eating more fun! He gets breakfast and dinner food and is starting to really love feeding himself finger foods. He is a big fan of eggs, waffles, cottage cheese, sweet potatoes, blueberries, carrots, and Cheerios. He could probably eat a whole box :).
He loves pointing at everything and will point to something if you ask him where it is. He will clap his hands together when you say "pat-a-cake" and is still talking up a storm. Most used words lately are dada, car, go, cow, and "Gog" (dog) (still his favorite word that he says all the time). He LOVES Jax. Loves him so much. One day I noticed Barrett was playing quietly (a little too quietly) so I looked out and saw them siting together in the living room playing with each other-handing the bone back and forth and playing tug of war quietly. It's about the cutest thing ever. He asks for Jax when he wakes up in the morning and from naps. I'll walk in, bend down, he will smile all big and give me hug, and then sometimes he looks around me into the hallway and asks "gog?" One day he fussed until I took him into our room where Jax was sleeping.
He loves being in Jax's kennel and in his bed. Or in a box. Or a laundry basket.
Barrett was a little rundown for about 5 days with roseola. He had a fever for 3 days which meant lots of cuddling. During the Colts playoff game, he laid with Matt and watched with him. After about an hour of laying, he curled up and fell asleep. That is so very rare for the boy who never sits still. Luckily once the fever was gone, he was right back to himself again!
And just for a side by side...I can't believe how big he has gotten!
