the fourth

This year for the 4th, we made our way down to Matt's brother's families to spend the weekend.  His brother and uncle are involved with shooting off the big fireworks show and the 4th is pretty big to them.  I love the 4th of July!

It was great to be with Matt's mom and his brother's family.  Barrett loves his cousins!  He was getting good practice saying their names :).  We hung around the house on Sunday and did some playing outside with the kids.  That evening, we went out for some Mexican food and then made our way to the fireworks show.  The kids got to play a little and then it was time for the show.  We threw some earmuffs on B and waited to see what he'd think of the BOOMs!  Once the first one went off, he was hooked.  He kept clapping and saying "yay!" when one would shoot off.  It was adorable.  He stayed up way past his bedtime and passed out in the car on the way home.

Such a good weekend all around.  Happy 4th!

the bear: months 15-18

We have been LOVING Summer!  I am a little sad to think about it ending, it has just been the best with having Barrett around.  This kid really loves being outside.  It's his favorite place.  He'd live out there if he could.  

We've had so many fun days and memories made.  Everyday I am off (and on weekends I work since he's with Dada), we get outside at some point to play and also take Jax for a walk.  Bubbles, rocks, the slide, balls, and just running like a crazy boy around the yard-that's our backyard fun.  We've had some pool days with friends as well as free swim at Goldfish (B is becoming quite the fish! He is getting so comfortable in the water and is great at kicking and swimming around), days at the zoo, the children's museum, the park, splash pad, play dates, and walks and bikes rides.  My favorite time is when we are all four together :).  I love seeing him having such a blast-red-cheeked, sweaty haired boy-and then washing him up in the bath and sleeping hard to reboot for our next day. 

Play hard....rest harder :)
