month nine

Ohhh, Bodey boy, you are magic.  No matter what kind of day we are having or how "off" we may be feeling,  we pick you up and you hug us so tightly or put your head down on our shoulder and every single thing melts away.  You have the most peaceful personality and are so easy-going.  You smile if we even just look at you and that smile-man it lights up the room.

You are the master of "stare-downs" if someone you don't know comes near you or near me if I'm holding you.  You stare at them until you size them up and down and decide they're nice, then you'll give them a sweet smile :)

You are staring to babble A LOT! "Mama" on the regular" and I swear you say your own little version of "hiiii". You are crawling so fast and can get anywhere. Pulling up on everything, cruising like a pro, LOVES to be picked up and held-like all day, everyday.   Constantly crawling up and pulling up onto your legs and stares at you and whines until you pick him up :) Just now starting to "get into stuff" (like emptying out the whole thing of trash bags out from the box).

Still nursing 5 times a day (4/5 am, 8 am, 12 pm, 4 pm, 730 pm), eating 2 meals, taking 2 naps (10/1030 am and 2/230 pm), in size 6-9 month and 9-12 month clothes and size 3 diapers.  You are smaller in size as compared to what your big bro was.  Hand me downs are still working out! :)

You LOVE food! You rarely drop anything, everything makes it into your mouth and FAST! You;ll eat just about anything and absolutely love eating.

Happy 9 Months, sweet Bodey!

month eight

8 whole months as a family of four with the best little addition to the family we could have dreamed of.  Bodey Frank is 8 months old!

Body continues to be the "peace" in our house. He's quiet when his brother is loud, he makes his presence known with huge smiles that reel you in, and sometimes when I'm anxious or stressed or busy with daily life all I have to do is pick him up and hold him and I can literally feel it all melt away when he lays his head on my shoulder.  This kid is magic.

He got his first tooth! Bottom right, which was closely followed by bottom left.  The two bottom teeth are just the cutest little things.  He had a little bit of a rough time, not terrible though.  Just sleeping little less soundly, fussy/clingy, and a clear runny nose.  We gave him Tylenol for a few nights to help.  Overall, he's been pretttttyyyyyy clingy lately.  He would love it if you'd just hold him all day. Especially his mama, he's pretty stuck on me.  He is constantly crawling to find me and then climbing up on my legs and staring or whining until I pick him up.

He is starting to make some noises, finally! He really doesn't babble all that much, but he does say "mmmm" when he's in his highchair waiting for food.  He fake coughs which is hysterical.  He is crawling EVERYWHERE and is SO fast! He is pulling up on everything, but not cruising quite yet.  We finally are getting some good belly laughs out of him, his first huge one being at his big brother!  So sweet.

We cut down to only 2 naps at 7.5 months, one around 10/1030 am and one around 2:30/3pm. He usually still wakes to eat between 3:30 and 5 am, goes back to bed until 8/8:30 am, does the two naps, and is usually awake by 4/4:30 pm and then goes to bed around 7:45/8 pm.  He still nurses 5 times and eats 2 meals.

Bodey LOVES food! He loves nursing still, but is a pretty huge fan of real food too.  We stuck with the Baby Led Weaning and he has been loving eating whatever we have! I have loved it too!  The only thing we have found he didn't like was steamed cauliflower lol.  Otherwise he's had eggs, yogurt, cheerios, cantaloupe, banana, avocado, pear, sweet potato, steamed carrot, and green beans!

It has been such an amazing 8 months and we are so glad to have him by our side!

Happy 8 Month, Bodey Frank!

month seven

And here comes 7 months, when I want to cry like a baby because my baby is closer to a year old than he is to a newborn :(  Good thing it just keeps getting BETTER! This sweet hunk of love is just the coolest kid.  His personality is the calm and peace in our house, which is a nice balance to our tornado of a 3 year old :)  We all just love him SO very much!

Bodey started crawling at 6.5 months, following exactly in the footsteps as his big bro.  The Dunn boys and their motor milestones! haha. He is getting around everywhere now at 7 months and even pulls himself to stand.  Slow down buddy!  We need to get out the baby gates.  If he wants to be held, he usually knows where to find me-and will crawl straight for the kitchen or the laundry room to hunt me down :)

He LOVES being sung to. He gets the hugest smile on his face the minute you start.  He doesn't really discriminate, but he especially loves "You Are My Sunshine".  He also gets a huge smile when you say "mama" or "dada" to him or when I sign "all done" after he's done eating :)  No words or obvious sound babbles yet. He "talks" but no syllable sounds yet.  He loves standing, and will pull to stand if you let him grab your fingers.

We started solids right around 6 months and are going the "baby-led weaning" route which is basically no purees, but instead giving him soft actual pieces of food for him to self-feed. He is lovinnnggg it!  I haven't been the most consistent, but I'm trying to be better! haha.  He has had (and has loved) avocado, sweet potato, pear, carrot, banana, and coconut milk yogurt, but will not entertain the idea of steamed cauliflower. He wouldn't even let me put any in his mouth and he gagged if got a piece in there.  He also loves sipping water out of his straw cup. Such a big boy!

Bodey is a great sleeper! He usually falls asleep around 8 pm at night (although sometimes he would want to go down sooner and the nights I work he waits until 8:30 pm when I get home) and sleeps solid until between 4 and 6 am.  It had been more like between 3 and 430 am the last few weeks, but just the last few days he has slept closer to 5 am and once even got to 6 am! Progress! He then nurses and falls back asleep until around 8/830 am! He has,  just in the past couple days, only taken 2 naps with one being 2+ hours long! He's been doing his first nap around 10 am and it's usually about an hour or more, and then second nap around 130/2 pm and depending on how long this one is he may or may not get another catnap before bed. It had been nap at 930/10 am, 1/130 pm, and 5 pm is, but he's been taking longer naps and cutting that catnap.  Works for me!

Still nurses 5 times a day, wears size 3 diapers, and 6-9 month clothes.  Sweet as can be in every single way!

Happy 7 Months, Bodey Frank!
