My best friend's sister in law works as Mrs. Claus during the holiday season. She actually messaged me and let me know they'd be in town on a Friday night at a frozen custard place if we wanted to come! I picked B up from school, got him home for bath and dinner, and then we went! On the way there, I asked him what he was going to ask Santa for Christmas. At first, he kept saying "I don't know", but then eventually let it out that he wants "slippers and a jack in the box". I knew about the slippers, but a jack-in-the-box was new haha. He also had a heck of a time understanding Mrs. Claus. I told him it's Santa Claus' wife. So from then on, he either referred to her as Santa's Wife or Queen Santa Claus.
Every year is more magical than the last, and seeing his face when he saw Santa was absolutely priceless. He was in awe. He walked right up to him (quietly) and said (quietly) "Hi Santa". He wasn't scared at all! He got up on his lap and talked with him. The Santa was fantastic. He spent so much time talking with B, explaining about his reindeer and how he would get in our house on Christmas Eve, etc. It was so perfect! He also got a kick out of Mrs. Claus and gave her a hug at the end :)
The next day we went to Sullivan's Santa Express with our friends! We did this last year and the boys loved it, this year was even better!
And the SNOW!! Most important part of the story is that we FINALLY have outside Christmas lights up! I've been asking Matt for like 7 years now (and have had lights sitting in the Christmas decoration box waiting to be put out for 3 years) and this year was the winner! Maybe it was having the new house that motivated us. Either way, I'm SO happy they are up! I love them so much. The same day our lights went up, we got our first snow of the season! When B woke up from his nap, he was so excited to see it...and then said "It's snowing! Now Santa can come!" :). We took him out to play a little bit (and snap some pictures of course!).
