zoo

Our hometown has a park and zoo that is free for the public and it is so fun to take Barrett to play and see the animals.  We went once last year, but he was too little to get out and play.  This year he loved getting out of the stroller and walking running around.  We went with our friends Jamie and Henry the first time and had such a blast! I love seeing these two boys together :).   Then a few weeks later my mom, my niece, and I took Barrett back.

The first time we went he was a little hesitant about the petting zoo and the baby goats, but mostly because the rooster had crowed right before we walked in and scared the crap out of him.

He is a HUGE fan of anything water-related.  There are these little fountains at the front of the zoo that the little kids can splash in.  Barrett mostly just wants to drink the water though.  Oh well, have fun kid!

Next time...and still obsessed with the water.  We ended up stripping him down to just a onesie and let him get soaked.  He loved it!  

He did MUCH better with the goats the second time.  He kept pointing at them and even pet some of them!

Our second time we rode the train, too.  Barrett loved the choo-choo :).

I am excited for many more park and zoo trips to come!

easter (yes 2 months late, but the point is that I blogged it eventually right?)

Pretend like I wrote this back in April.  Ok? Thanks :).

We spent Easter up at Matt's aunt and uncle's house this year, just like we did last year.  It's crazy what a difference a year makes in what Barrett looks like and can do.  

He actually got to participate in his first Easter egg hunt this year! He also got to eat all the food we had, open and enjoy his own Easter basket, spend some great time with family, and was a good boy at Easter mass.  It was fun getting him all dressed up :)
