month four

Sweet, sweet Bodey Frank. You are the bomb, little man. You are such a perfect little fit for our family and we LOVE you so very much!

He is getting such a personality.  His smiles take up his whole face and he will smile at pretty much anything and anyone, happiest babe! We haven't gotten a belly laugh out of him yet, but his big bro was super stingy with laughs too! We've gotten a few little chuckles and smiles so big he's silently giggling, but no actual laughs yet.

Bodey enjoys a nice meal followed by some playtime (on his playmat where he rolls around and pulls on his blue holy ball, on a blanket on the floor where he plays on his belly and back, and more recently in his bumbo!) followed by a nice nap.  Which is 30 minutes some days and 2 hours another lol.

This kid LOVES to sit up. He really enjoys being in the bumbo, especially up on the counter while I'm in the kitchen doing stuff. He likes being in the action. He likes when you sit him up or stand him up on your lap too. He loves being in the carrier and being held and snuggled. Another snuggly baby! He started rolling over belly to back at about 3.5 months and back to belly about a week or so before turning 4 months. He loves laying on his back and lifting his legs way in the air and trying to grab his feet.  Also LOVES eating his hands!

A normal day looks like this:

7-8 am: wake up HAPPY!, eats shortly after he wakes up, naps around 9/930 am
11am/12pm: eat, play, nap
2/3pm: eat, play, nap
530/630 pm: eat, play, catnap (some nights)
830 pm: into slipcase, nurses to sleep, lay in bassinet
Sleeps until 4/5 am! Eats again and back to sleep

He still sleeps and naps in his bassinet in our room, we haven't moved him to his crib yet. Still swaddled in his sleep sack, although he's starting to break his arms out.  He has requested his Mama go dairy free, just as his big bro did, and I'm gladly doing it to know his belly will feel better!

month three

Big three month old in the house! :) Oh Bodey, we love you so.

Why do babies have to get so big, so fast? I do feel like he is still a small squishy babe, but then he will lift his head up like a champ or try to stand and I'm reminding how quickly this phase goes.  Bodey continues to be a happy baby! He had a little rough period right around his 12 week bday which I am chalking up to a grown spurt.  Fussier, wanting to nurse more, and not napping as well.  Luckily I think we are phasing out of it.

He is a still a good little eater.  Nurses about 6 times a day (although it was more like 7 during his growth spurt and the day after I'd work too) and does a great job sleeping at night. Thanks buddy, love you too :).

He is still in the bassinet in our room and sleep in the sleepsack swaddle. He usually wants to go to sleep around 8/8:30 pm (eats around 7 pm) and I rock him to sleep and then lay him in his bed.  He will sleep until I dreamed him around 11 pm and then usually sleeps until 4 or 5 am!  He goes right back to sleep after that feed and wakes up between 7 and 8 am a happy boy...until he realizes he wants to eat again haha.

Bodey loves laying on his playmat and trying to reach the toys.  He has started flipping his legs up to touch the toys too which then rolls him to his side. No rolling all the way over yet though. He hasn't rolled belly to back either, but he doesn't really give himself a chance to try since he lasts about 30 seconds to 1.5 minutes of tummy time before expressing his disinterest in it.

He found his hands a couple weeks ago and likes to suck and chew on them.  He is beginning to notice his feet too and thinks they are pretty cool.  Bodey loves listening to and looking at his big bro and gives him lots and lots of smiles.  It's the sweetest thing.

He continues to be the calm in our house and the sweetest little soul.  Love you, Bo!

month two

two months

Bodey Frank is 2 months old!  Fastest two months ever,  but yet I do feel like we've gotten to savor every moment with this little guy.  He is the happiest little camper and so dang sweet! He's got the best little personality.  Quietly staring, sweet smiles, and tiny coos are his thing (when he's not hollering to eat).  I just want to eat him up!  I'm sure he's quiet because he has no time to even make any noise with his big brother around lol.

He is starting to be awake for longer periods throughout the day and is pretty rock solid on the eat, play, sleep thing during the day.  He always is awake and wants to look around when he's done eating and then after an hour or so (sometimes 2 hours!), he conks out for a nap.  He likes looking around on his play mat and at his fold-out book and mirror, but is still very unappreciative of being put on his belly for play time.  He lasts a whole 45 seconds before he's fussing and then it kind of just puts him in bad mood until you an perk him back up.  We will keep practicing!  Even without loving tummy time, he still has some great head and neck control which is awesome!

He nurses about 7 times a day.  Last for the night around 8 pm and then stays awake until 10/1030 pm still (no matter what I've tried to get him to fall asleep earlier), I dreamfeed him at 11/1130 pm when I go to bed and then he usually sleeps until between 3 and 5 am! He is like clockwork and then gets up between 7 and 8 am and wants to eat and be up for the morning before passing out for a good morning nap.  He's pretty good about sleeping on the go if we are out and about, but I do love when we can be home for him to take a great nap.

Happy 2 Months Bodey!

month one

A whole month with this sweet, squishy, cuddly, kissable babe! I know everyone says this, but here are two things I have found all too true since Bodey has been here. It really IS possible to love another child (I really was worried that I could ever love another child like I love Barrett, and also afraid that another baby would take love from B).  So. Not. True. The love somehow explodes and your heart doubles in size. It's incredible.  Also, he's only been with us a month but it truly feels like he's been here all along and we've never been without him.  He fits right in and we all love him SO very much.

Bodey is a little dreamboat. Bear might have been this exact same baby and I'm just saying Bodey is a dreamboat because it's easier second time around? Or maybe he truly is just as dreamy as he seems haha.  He rarely cries, only fusses when hungry, tired, or needs a diaper change. Pretty valid reasons I'd say, and all fixable.  He doesn't really do the "witching hour" like Bear did where he fussed all evening long.  Bodey is definitely wide awake from about 8:30 pm-10 pm every night and needs his paci, but he's not inconsolable by any means.

He's actually already a pretty good sleeper and shockingly understood the whole day and night thing right from the start (or maybe it was week 2...either way, super quickly!). He did celebrate week 1 with a 4.5 hr and a 5 hr feeding stretch at night! He usually eats around 8 or 9 pm, stays awake and hangs out with Mom and Dad (I think he does this because it's the only time of the day that he gets us to himself! lol), and then snoozes for a bit before eating at 11/11:30 pm and then conking out for the night.  He has actually done this since the very first week we were home! He'll eat that feed and then sleep until sometime between 3 am and 4 am! (a couple
times he's made it to 5 am! but he probably eats closer to midnight those times)  He goes back to sleep after that, wakes to eat between 7 and 8 am, and then goes back to sleep until about 10 am! He is a great nurser and loves to eat, just like his big bro!

I got a smile out of him for the first time on his 4 week bday, and I think he is wanting to start cooing really soon!  He dislikes diaper changes.  He LOVES looking around and staring at people's faces and bath time/getting his hair washed.  Also loves being held and being in the carrier-any and all of them.

Happy 1 Month, baby Bodey!
